Pesach 2024
Almond branch: I am standing ready to perfom My word!

What does Pesach really mean to us as followers of Yeshau? This is the question that I have been pondering this Pesach and it has brought me new insight in my daily walk with Yeshua. It answered another question in my mind; how do I live as to not make the death of Yeshua cheap, how do I honour Him as my Saviour?
The Flesh Whilst attending the Pesach celebration of ICEJ on 22 April 2024, we walked through the Exodus journey of the Jewish people, God’s chosen nation. The celebration really serves to remind us what the Jewish people were set free from when the left Egypt. As followers of Yeshua it reminds us that we have been set free from the slavery of sin, the slavery of following after the dictates of the flesh instead of instruction of the spirit. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1 NKJV
While I was there, I saw myself, kneeling before a cross. The cross, the background and I was in a dark brown, nearly black colour and at the top, left quadrant of the cross there was a round hole with light coming through. Pondering this image brought me a new revelation:
The Crossover. We have been taught that we need to lay our sins down at the cross, but this picture, showed me laying at the foot of the cross and from this I understand the following: When we follow the example of Yeshua to lay ourselves, our lives and our wills down at the cross, when we finally say: “Father, not my will, but Your will be done,” is is a different from laying down your sins. And as in the picture, it is dark around us and we cannot see the light. This is exactly what happened when Yeshua laid down His life and died; there was darkness over the earth.
The Promise. However, there is promise in God’s Word and this is reflected by the patch of light in the darkness. Even if we cannot see it, God is with us and true to His Word. He is with us wherever we go, whether in the heavens or the uttermost parts of the sea. He is the One who resurrected Yeshua on the third day. He is the One who was with Yeshua as He crossed over from natural life as we know it, to a resurrected life, a life in the fullness of His God. Yeshua completed His ordained purpose – He became “the Lamb who was slain before the foundations of the earth(Rev 13:8b).” Yeshua was faithful to His Father’s words and will, it cost Him his earthly life. However, trusting Father’s words brought life to Himself and to all of us and lastly, His death glorified our Father. Are you willing to trust your Father enough to lay down your life?
Yeshua’s life is our example, therefore understand that if we do not lean on our own understanding and follow Yeshua’s path to obey our Father and lay down our own wills and plans, He will do as He says in Jeremiah 1:11 NKJV: Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree. ”Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.”
May you be encourage by knowing that when you lay yourself down in the darkness surrounding the death at the cross, there is light, the Light which, in His faithfulness, will perform His Word over you, that for which He created you in your mother’s womb.
